Ronald Mathew is an information systems security professional with over ten years of experience in the field. He currently serves as the Associate Director – Risk and Compliance Services at ValueMentor.
Ronald holds a BTech degree in Computer Science & Engineering and has built his entire professional journey at ValueMentor since 2015. Over the last decade, he has progressed through various roles, including Security Analyst, SOC Lead, and Security Consultant, culminating in his recent promotion to Associate Director – GRC. Throughout his career, Ronald has maintained a passion for both technology and philosophy, focusing on building robust security practices for diverse industries and government organizations.
Career
Ronald began his career as a Security Analyst and Penetration Tester at ValueMentor in 2015, quickly expanding his skill set to encompass SOC leadership and Security Consulting. His expertise has helped clients across banking, insurance, fintech, hospitality, transportation, and government sectors implement effective security controls. Guided by an ever-evolving interest in technology, Ronald’s career has been shaped by a drive to stay ahead in the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape.
Career highlights
Among Ronald’s proudest achievements are leading the SOC team for various high-profile projects, building Risk & Compliance Services from the ground up, and spearheading critical assignments for prominent banks in the UAE and UAE government agencies. His leadership and deep industry knowledge have played a pivotal role in these successful implementations.
Education
Ronald earned his BTech in Computer Science & Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University in Kerala, India. His academic background laid the foundation for a career rooted in technical excellence and continuous learning.
Life at ValueMentor
In his day-to-day role, Ronald collaborates with senior management, sales and marketing, project management, presales, and the service delivery team. He also works closely with HR recruitment, security testing, and managed security services teams. Throughout his time at ValueMentor, he has helped establish a cooperative environment that fosters both entrepreneurial thinking and shared success.
When I joined
Ronald joined ValueMentor in 2015 at the India office and transitioned to the UAE office in 2019. From the start, he was drawn to the company’s supportive and visionary culture, which offered opportunities to learn, innovate, and grow.

Outside of work, Ronald’s passion for technology and philosophy fuels his innovative approach to problem-solving. He draws inspiration from Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” applying its strategic mindset to cybersecurity defense. By thinking like an adversary, Ronald ensures that his clients benefit from comprehensive security strategies.

One lesson you would like to share with others
He believes in the power of “Atomic Habits,” encouraging others to make small, incremental improvements daily. Over time, these minor changes lead to significant and lasting results.

When not at work, Ronald enjoys researching technology, exploring philosophical ideas, and playing cricket, football, and badminton. He also has a keen interest in military science and history, which informs his strategic thinking in professional settings.
